Updated HomePod mini is Out of the Question for Now, Suggests Latest Report

HomePod Apple
Apple fans are buzzing about the possibilities of an upgraded HomePod mini as a successor to the current HomePod model. Reports have been circulating that indicate that an updated version of the diminutive device could be in the works. However, the latest report from AppleInsider suggests that an upgraded HomePod mini is not in the cards anytime soon.

The HomePod mini was released in November 2020 and received a positive response from consumers who welcomed the smaller and more affordable version of Apple’s HomePod smart speaker. Since then, rumors have been spreading that Apple is readying an update to the HomePod mini with new features and improved sound quality. According to AppleInsider, however, this is not the case.

The latest report states that based on a variety of factors, including patent sightings and Apple’s internal focus on the HomePod, there is no indication that an updated version of the HomePod mini is in the works. The report goes on to say that the current HomePod mini model is still in production, and that Apple may update the device at some point in the future, but for now, it does not seem to be on the company’s radar.

The lack of an upgrade to the HomePod mini may disappoint some Apple fans, as many were hoping for a more powerful device. However, Apple has made it clear that the HomePod mini is not intended to compete with devices from rivals like Amazon and Google. Instead, Apple has positioned the HomePod mini as an affordable entry-level speaker for Apple Music users.

It remains to be seen if Apple will eventually release an updated version of the HomePod mini in the future. However, the latest report indicates that the company is not actively working on a new model, and it is unlikely that an upgrade will be out anytime soon.
