Has Google officially released the Pixel 7a prototype, or is it an unofficial version?

It appears as though the biggest tech giant in the world, Google, has made a major blunder. A seller on eBay has just listed a Pixel 7a prototype with outrageous asking price of $50,000. According to reports, the device is a refurbished version with 128 GB of storage, running Android 11 operating system.

The list appeared before the official announcement of Pixel 7a that is expected to launch next week. This would suggest that either Google has sent a few prototypes out for review or else someone within the company is trying to make a quick buck by selling a valuable piece of tech-history.

The listing shows a factory-refurbished Pixel 7a device with a description that reads: “This device is NOT a Google Pixel 7a and is NOT approved by Google. This is a PROTOTYPE unit. Please note that this device is not as stable as a commercially released device and may have some defects.”

In any case, the listing has led to quite a commotion as it makes most people question how the individual got hold of a prototype device to list it on eBay. There are very few answers to that question as the device does appear to be genuine, but there is still no confirmation from Google as to how the sale has come about.

Some people think that this might be an indication that the actual announcement of Pixel 7a is very close, as some of the early units will likely make it to the market before its official launch.

It is understandable why someone would be willing to pay such a huge amount for what is essentially a prototype device. This could be an opportunity for someone to get their hands on Pixel 7a before anyone else, which could give them bragging rights in the tech world.

So if you are willing to take the risk and have the cash on hand, you too could be lucky enough to own the world’s first Pixel 7a prototype. Otherwise, the device will soon be outdated and forgotten, as we eagerly await the official launch next week.
