Apple Silicon Mac Pro Still in Pipeline as Part of Apple’s Transition, Reveals Company Executive

Apple development
In a recent statement from Apple, the company confirmed that a Mac Pro powered by the company’s new Apple Silicon is still in the development pipeline. The news comes as part of the bigger transition of Apple moving away from Intel processors and entire moving to their own custom silicon chips.

With the introduction of the M1 Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, and Mac Mini, Apple has demonstrated the capabilities of Apple Silicon and become the first major manufacturer to successfully transition to ARM-based mobile processors. While this move also enabled the devices to become cheaper and more energy-efficient, Apple had to make cuts in terms of performance in order to decrease the cost.

The ambitions of Apple Silicon is to eventually create a processor that is powerful enough to be used in a high-end device like the Mac Pro. The company had previously stated that the first Apple Silicon-powered Mac Pro was expected to be released in 2021 but now, the company executive has revealed that the device is still in the development pipeline.

The executive, who has asked to remain anonymous, revealed that the development of the Mac Pro is highly complex and requires multiple components to work together. While Apple Silicon is more energy-efficient and has better performance compared to Intel processors, the development of the Mac Pro needs to be carefully adapted.

Apple also plans to take advantage of the new technologies in the Mac Pro, such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and virtual reality. The company executive did not reveal any specific details regarding the Mac Pro but did say that the development is going “according to plan”.

The Mac Pro powered by the Apple Silicon chip is seen as the first true test of the potential of the company’s new technology and the company is expected to make an announcement once the development is complete. Until then, the entire tech world is waiting in anticipation for the announcement of the first Apple Silicon-powered Mac Pro.
