Krafton’s Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) made a comeback in India after being banned in 2022. The survival shooter battle royale mobile title was banned in the country due to concerns surrounding data privacy and national security. Since its comeback, the game’s developer has announced several events and collaborations to woo back its massive player base. In its latest promotion, the game has announced its collaboration with a popular Bollywood actor. According to a report by IGN, this celebrity may become BGMI’s latest ambassador.
Krafton partners with Ranveer Singh for BGMI
In a media conference held last month, Krafton revealed its BGMI roadmap and plans for the battle royale game. At this event, the company also mentioned a possible collaboration with the actor but didn’t announce the name of the celebrity at that time.
Now, the company has released a new teaser to announce its collaboration with Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh. Krafton has released a teaser on BGMI’s official Instagram account that includes the actor. The Instagram video begins with the actor’s back towards the camera while he is sitting on a sofa.
A background voice asks Singh if they could do a “soft rehearsal”. The actor answers the question with “Yes, Let’s Go”. In this video, Singh seems to be wearing a jacket with initials of his name ‘R’ and ‘S’ which also gets highlighted towards the end of the video.
The video ends with the tagline: ‘Play Pure Coming Soon’. Meanwhile, the caption of the video says: “No more soft rehearsals! ‘Boht Hard’ drop coming your way”. The company hasn’t confirmed in what capacity will this collaboration come to fruition.
As per the report, a “Boht Hard” drop coming soon suggests that BGMI players may get some new cosmetics themed around the popular Bollywood actor. Interested players have to wait to find out more about this upcoming collaboration. The report notes that Singh may also appear in the game as a playable character.
