Sony: Sony hikes PlayStation Plus annual plan prices: All details
Japanese gaming company Sony has announced that it’s increasing the price of the yearly subscriptions of all PlayStation Plus tiers globally. The price change will apply to existing members whenever their plan renews on or after November 6. However, new customers or the ones who are changing their current plans have to start paying the increased price immediately.
The price hike is supposed to happen globally although some regions are still showing the older pricing. Sony has also confirmed that the pricing for one and three-month subscriptions will remain unchanged. The new prices will apply starting September 6.
“This price adjustment will enable us to continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service,” Sony said.

The PlayStation Plus service is available in three tiers. The yearly subscription of the basic PlayStation Plus Essential tier which was earlier priced at $60 (approximately Rs 5,000) will now cost $80 (approximately Rs 6,600).
With this tier, users can continue accessing two free monthly downloadable games as long as their membership is active. This plan also allows customers to access online multiplayer gaming, cloud saves and discounts on game purchases.

The PlayStation Plus Extra tier which came at a price tag of $100 (nearly Rs 8,300) will now cost $135 (nearly Rs 11,100). On this tier, users get everything that is available in the PlayStation Plus Essential tier as well as access to a catalogue of hundreds of PS4 and PS5 titles.
Lastly, the annual subscription for the PlayStation Plus Premium tier which was introduced at $120 (nearly Rs 10,000) now costs $160 (nearly Rs 13,200). This tier will enable users to get access to even more titles than what is available in the Extra tier. The Premium tier will include titles from PS3, PS2, PS One, and PSP titles, which can be played over the cloud.
PlayStation Plus monthly games for September
The Monthly Games lineup includes – Saints Row, Black Desert – Traveler Edition and Generation Zero. These titles will be available to PlayStation Plus members starting September 5 until October 2.
