WhatsApp has finally brought the screen sharing feature to its platform. As a part of this, the instant messaging platform allows users to share phone or PC display with other users over video calls. If you want to share your display and wondering how? Here are the steps you’ll need to follow.

But before dwelling into the steps, here are a couple of things that you need to keep in mind

  • You’ll need to download and install the latest version of WhatsApp on your phone or PC
  • The feature only works during an ongoing video call
  • It is available for both individual as well as group video calls
  • It can pose some security threats that can lead to scams, money fraud and more
  • There are some privacy features in place, however, users can take screenshots

Steps to follow to share screen using WhatsApp from Android and iOS devices

Open WhatsApp and make a video call
Open WhatsApp, after updating it, and select a contact or make a group video call to all the people you want to share the screen with and make a video call.

Tap on the new Screen share button at the bottom ribbon
During the ongoing video call, you’ll notice a new screen-sharing button (which looks like a phone icon with a forward arrow). Tap on it to start sharing your phone’s display with the user.

Steps to follow to share screen using WhatsApp on Windows

  • Make sure you’ve updated the WhatsApp app from Microsoft Store and open it
  • Make an individual or group video call
  • Tap on the screen share button
  • Here, you can either choose to share a particular window (Chrome, File Explorer, etc) or the entire display
  • Once selected, tap on the Share button again
