What changes were made to the AMD Ryzen 7040 “Phoenix” laptop CPU before its April release?

As AMD’s Ryzen 7000 laptop processors have proven to be some of the most sought-after laptop CPUs on the market, consumers are eagerly awaiting the upcoming release of their flagship Ryzen 7040 “Phoenix” series processors. However, it now appears that the launch of the Ryzen 7040 series will be delayed until April.

Originally, it was rumored that the Ryzen 7040 series processors would be launched sometime in February, following the release of their Ryzen 5000 H-series mobile processor in January. It was thought that the Ryzen 7040 series would be AMD’s answer to Intel’s Tiger Lake-H45 processors, featuring similar specs and performance.

However, it now appears that AMD has decided to delay the release of the Ryzen 7040 series until April. While no official reason has been given for the delay, some speculate that AMD may be attempting to make further improvements to the processor before releasing it to the public.

The Ryzen 7040 series is expected to feature 16 CPU cores and 32 threads at a base frequency of 3.4 GHz. It will also feature a boost frequency of 4.3 GHz, as well as AMD’s Zen 3 architecture. The processor will also come with a large 24 MB of L3 cache and 16 MB of L2 cache.

In addition to the Ryzen 7040, AMD is also expected to launch their Ryzen 7000 H-Series mobile processors in April. These processors will be based on the same Zen 3 architecture and will also come with impressive specs and performance. Especially when compared to Intel’s Tiger Lake-H45 processors.

Though it may be somewhat disappointing for consumers to have to wait a few more months for the official release of the Ryzen 7040 “Phoenix” processor, it seems that AMD is taking the extra time to ensure that their processor is the best product possible. We can only hope that the delay will be worth it, as the Ryzen 7040 series promises to be a top-of-the-line laptop processor.
