Atomic Soviet
For gamers in 2020, a new kind of gaming experience is on the horizon. Atomic Heart, a first-person shooter developed by Russian indie studio Mundfish, is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated games of the year. A title set in an alternate version of Soviet Union of the late 1980s, it promises to be the most ambitious and unique BioShock-like first-person shooter to date.

Atomic Heart’s world of the Soviet Union is one that has been heavily saturated with a unique aesthetic, one that captures the Soviet Union of decades past both aesthetically and thematically. From the retro-futuristic visuals to the post-apocalyptic narrative, Atomic Heart melds a variety of different elements within its Soviet Union.

In terms of its gameplay mechanics, Atomic Heart looks to provide an engrossing experience to the player. Players will be able to explore Atomic Heart’s Soviet Union in an open-world environment, making use of a variety of weapons, gadgets, and vehicles to accomplish the various tasks. From the weapons available, you’ll be able to select from a mix of both traditional and unique weaponry. Players will also be able to craft their own items using special workbenches, as well as interact with other NPCs throughout the world.

While there isn’t much known about Atomic Heart’s narrative besides it being set within an alternate version of the Soviet Union, it looks to be some of the most intense storytelling witnessed in a first-person shooter. Players will be expected to make moral and tactical decisions as they progress through the story. With its non-linear storyline, players will have the chance to shape the story in their own way.

From what we’ve seen so far, Atomic Heart looks to be a polished and engrossing BioShock-like experience. Its unique aesthetic and Soviet setting echoes the creative direction provided by the original BioShock. Its visceral, interactive, and immersive gameplay mechanics look to elevate it to the top of the FPS genre. And with its expansive narrative and world design, Atomic Heart looks to make this a one-of-a-kind experience.

Atomic Heart has a great deal of potential to become one of the biggest games of the year. With its unique blend of BioShock-like gameplay and Soviet-themed aesthetic, there’s no doubt that Atomic Heart is looking to be one of the most polished and ambitiousBioShock-like experiences of today.
