The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was one of the biggest surprises to come out of E3 2014. The highly-anticipated title from CD Projekt RED showed off its next-gen graphical advances, making both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game look stunning. To prove this point, the developer released a number of comparison videos highlighting the differences between the versions of The Witcher 3.

First up was a side-by-side look at how the characters models look on the two different consoles. The differences are quite stark, with the PlayStation 4 version having much more detailed character models with more realistic textures and shadows. The animations are also much smoother on the PS4 version, which helps to give the game a more natural feel.

CD Projekt RED also released a comparison video that highlighted the lighting effects in The Witcher 3. The PS4 version has a much more dynamic lighting system that gives the world a more vibrant look. This is especially evident during night scenes, where the PS4 version is capable of rendering brighter and more realistic lighting.

Finally, another comparison video showed off the differences between The Witcher 3’s draw distance on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. The draw distance on the PS4 version is much longer than the Xbox One, meaning that much more of the game world can be seen when playing on the Sony console.

As these comparison videos show, The Witcher 3 is a much better-looking game on the PlayStation 4 when compared to the Xbox One. The next-gen hardware allows for advanced effects such as dynamic lighting and longer draw distances, giving the game an immersive, next-gen look.
