Microsoft has recently released DirectStorage 1.1 API that brings great improvements in performance on the PC platform with their latest DirectStorage API. It is designed to optimize gaming experiences, media editing, and other 3D intensive applications on PC. With the latest DirectStorage API, Microsoft has partnered with Sabrent to bring the ultimate performance to the PC platform.

The new DirectStorage API uses an NVMe-based entry point and controllers such as the latest Phison IO+ firmware. This allows for more inputs and requests per second s compared to previous models. To test the performance of the new DirectStorage API, Microsoft and Sabrent collaborated to test the performance of the DirectStorage 1.1 API. The test was conducted using the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus-G PCI Gen4 SSD mated with the Phison IO+ Firmware.

To measure the performance, Microsoft used a synthetic benchmarks based on real-life scenarios and workloads in the form of 3DMark, HWiNFO32, and UserBenchmark. With the DirectStorage API, the PCIe Gen4 SSD was able to score an impressive speed rating of 11,609. This result is almost twice the performance of past models that used the 4KiB random read and write speeds.

The average latency on the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus-G with the Phison IO+ Firmware was found to be 8.04ms. This is a significant improvement compared to traditional SSDs that have a latency of up to 50ms, depending on the workload. This low latency helps reduce stutter and lag, while increasing the speed of data transfers across the system.

Overall, Microsoft and Sabrent have created a powerful solution on the PC platform with the DirectStorage API and Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus-G PCI Gen4 SSD running the latest Phison IO+ Firmware. The testing conducted using the DirectStorage API and the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus-G PCI Gen4 SSD showed significant improvements in overall performance. The improved speed, latency, and overall performance of the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus-G PCI Gen4 SSD with the latest Phison IO+ Firmware makes it a great choice for gamers, media editors, and other 3D-intensive applications.
