DualSense Edge Deluxe Controller Has a Shorter Battery Life than the Original Model

A lot of gamers have recently become aware that the new DualSense Edge Deluxe Controller from Sony has a shorter battery life than the original model. However, the battery life for the Deluxe version is only around 15 hours, whereas the original DualSense controller was rated for around 30 hours of wireless gameplay.

The company noted that it expects most people to charge their controllers every night – in line with their gaming habits – and that this should still give them enough juice for a full session. Additionally, Sony has claimed that the extra features of the Deluxe controller should make up for the shortened battery life.

Despite Sony’s attempts to justify its decision, many gamers are still frustrated by the reduced battery life of the new controller. Many feel that it undermines the convenience aspect of the controller, as gamers now have to remember to charge their controllers every night. Furthermore, some gamers have also noted that for an expensive peripheral like the DualSense Edge Deluxe, one should not have to fear battery life concerns in order to utilise the features of the product.
