As Apple intensifies its efforts to transition away from Intel processors and towards new Apple Silicon chips, the company is reportedly developing multiple external displays that could see the light of day in 2021. According to a new report, Apple has been working on multiple external displays that are designed to be compatible with its new Macs featuring Apple Silicon chips.

The most exciting product in the lineup appears to be a 6K Pro Display XDR, an even more advanced version of the 5K Pro Display XDR that Apple currently offers. Like its predecessor, the 6K Pro Display XDR would feature a 6,016 by 3,384 resolution and DCI-P3 wide color gamut. It would also be capable of True Tone technology, nano-texture glass, and even more advanced anti-glare.

In addition to the 6K Pro Display XDR, Apple is also reportedly developing smaller 4K and 5K displays for those looking for a more affordable option. These displays would offer a smaller 4,096 by 2,304 and 5,120 by 2,880 resolution, respectively. They would also feature True Tone technology and wide color gamut.

With multiple external displays in the works, Apple is looking to expand its portfolio of offerings as it moves towards an all Mac lineup powered by its own Apple Silicon chips. Although no release date has been set, the report states that Apple could potentially release the new displays sometime in 2021.

In any case, news of Apple’s plans to release multiple external displays with Apple Silicon is certainly exciting. For Mac users looking to upgrade their displays and take advantage of the latest Apple Silicon-powered Macs, 2021 could become a very exciting year.
