A new lineup of AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs, the non-X series, has been leaked out by the leaker @Komachi_Ensaka. The leak suggests the Ryzen 9 7900, Ryzen 7 7700, and Ryzen 5 7600, based on the transition to a new socket, the “AM5”, which is expected to come with the next round of Ryzen CPUs.

The Ryzen 9 7900 is said to feature 16 cores and 32 threads, plus a base clock of 3.1GHz and a boost clock of 4.3GHz. It comes with 64 MB of L3 cache and will likely be AMD’s flagship for the non-X series.

The Ryzen 7 7700 will have 12 cores and 24 threads and come with a base clock of 3.2GHz and a 4.2GHz boost clock. It too will have 64MB of L3 cache.

The Ryzen 5 7600 has 8 cores and 16 threads and has a base clock of 3.3GHz and a boost clock of 4.1GHz. It comes with 32MB of L3 cache.

The non-X series of Ryzen CPUs will likely be aimed at more budget-conscious buyers, and we can expect that the more expensive X series will continue to exist alongside them. The leaked specifications suggest that these CPUs are aimed at affordable performance and don’t sacrifice too much performance compared to the more expensive CPUs.

The AM5-socket CPUs are expected to be targeted at a 2021 launch and will likely be among the first Zen 3-based processors to be released by AMD. The transition to a new socket brings with it interesting possibilities, such as the potential for simultaneous multi-chip module (MCM) processors with multiple dies/CPUs on a single socket.

At this point nothing has been officially confirmed by AMD and the leaked information should be taken with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, the specs of these CPUs suggest that AMD is making a play for affordable performance. We’ll be sure to update you as more information becomes available.
