Mario Strikers: Battle League Third Free Update Brings Birdo and Bowser Jr.

Mario Strikers: Battle League, an epic and all-new take on the classic Mario Strikers, is about to reach new heights with its next free update, which brings with it two fan-favorites to the lineup—Birdo and Bowser Jr. With these new characters, plus a host of improvements, Mario Strikers is sure to please fans.

Birdo, a pink and yellow dinosaur initially introduced in the Super Mario Bros. 2 game, is just as silly and cheerful as ever. Always ready to cheer on her teammates and throw a curveball in the mix, Birdo’s signature ability is her Egg Shot, a blast of colorful eggs that deal considerable damage. She also has her unique Striker attack, a volley of eggs fired at an opponent’s goal. Additionally, the shells that appear when Birdo is struck can be used to shield the goal from incoming shots.

Bowser Jr., the son of none other than the Koopa King himself, joins the line-up as a defensive-minded Striker. He’ll be a challenge to dislodge from the ball, as his unique Jr. Finisher allows him to remain atop the ball for a short time after a successful charge. To top it off, Bowser Jr. also has a special Shell Shield ability which can protect him from enemy Strikers and stop powerful shots from outside of the goal’s vicinity.

The update also includes several in-game adjustments and improvements, including the new Strikers Gear mode, which allows players to customize their characters with their favorite cosmetics, as well as a few additional new maps specific to the new Strikers.

Players can expect to experience the same fast-paced, explosive action Mario Strikers is known for, plus a few surprises with the new characters in the game. With the addition of Birdo and Bowser Jr., as well as all of the other exciting new features, Mario Strikers: Battle League is certain to provide hours of on-the-field fun.
