The tech world was abuzz recently with the news that Intel had leaked details about their upcoming line of CPUs, codenamed “Raptor Lake Refresh”. These processors are set to be released in the third quarter of 2023, and will include the Sapphire Rapids Xeon W-2400 series, Xeon W-3400 series, and the Core i9-13900KS. This leak has given us a first look at the specs and features of these CPUs, as well as a glimpse of the platform they will be released on.

The Xeon W-2400 series comprises of eight flagship models, ranging from the Xeon W-2401 to the Xeon W-2408. All of these processors will feature up to 8 cores and 16 threads and will be based on the 8nm process node. They come with up to 64MB of Intel Smart Cache and the high-end Xeon W-2408 model will also feature boosted clock speeds. Other notable features include support for Intel Optane memory and up to 10 USB 3.2 ports.

The Xeon W-3400 series will also have eight models, ranging from the Xeon W-3401 to the Xeon W-3408. Surprisingly, these CPUs will feature up to 10 cores and 20 threads, while still being based on the 8nm process node. Like their predecessor, they come with up to 64MB of Intel Smart Cache and will also support Intel Optane memory. In addition, they will feature higher base clock speeds when compared to the Xeon W-2400 series.

Finally, the Core i9-13900KS will be the flagship model in this lineup. It will feature 8 cores and 16 threads, up to 128MB of Intel Smart Cache and boosted clock speeds. It will also benefit from technologies such as Intel Optane memory, Intel UHD Graphics and up to 10 USB 3.2 ports.

Furthermore, Intel’s Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs will be compatible with the upcoming “Denlow” platform. This platform will be supported by Intel’s 10nm Comet Lake-S processors, which will be the direct successor to the current 8th-generation Core i5 and i7 series. The Denlow platform will feature a new chipset as well as new capabilities such as support for up to 128GB RAM and up to 44 PCI Express Gen 4 lanes.

Overall, the Intel leak has given us a good idea of what to expect from the upcoming Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs. We now know that they will include up to 8 cores, up to 64MB of Intel Smart Cache and support for Intel Optane memory. Furthermore, they will be supported by the Denlow platform, which will offer improved compatibility and support for up to 128GB RAM. Keep an eye out for more information about these upcoming processors as Intel continues to share more details.
